Windy days

I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions and not upon our circumstances. - Martha Washington

The nicest thing that I have realized, as of late, is the humor in life.  Humor is  wonderful.  One of my favourite things about my husband is his ability to laugh in difficult situations.  It is important to laugh at the world...and at ourselves.
Living in a big family is like this...  Getting out the door becomes a challenge...sitting down at meal time is a challenge...having guests over is a challenge...sweeping the front step can be a challenge...boiling a pot of water can be a challenge...daily life can be a challenge... (you do it like this, not like that).  It can be a bit like living in a wind tunnel. But you know, those same situations can make life that more interesting as well.  Just depending on how you take it.
We all find different things to have importance and have value.  I do think we need to respect each others' opinions, but we can't get lost in them.  So, when opinions begin to fly, hang onto your hat, and smile, or laugh, and put your shoulder to the wind...and have faith that you will get to where you need to go.
